How?

What can you do to make a difference?

Perhaps you already have an insight into Global Education and you are familiar with global citizenship competences. If you’re motivated to become an active global citizen, all you need to do is take action.

This is the right place to discover what you should do next. We can offer suggestions for real-life action and show you how to get started.

As a first step, check out the Global Navigator – an online self-evaluation tool for global citizenship. After signing in, you can evaluate yourself as an individual or your Scout troop as a whole. The Global Navigator will show you how globally responsible you are at the moment and give you tips for taking action. Come back to the Global Navigator over time to track your progress.

Our other great tool is all about concrete actions. It’s a methodology for doing good deeds called GIRA – Global Informed and Reflective Actions. GIRA gives you the know-how and inspiration to do the things that lead to positive change.

And last but not least, you can use our free comprehensive handbook Scouts and Guides: Active Global Citizens that includes all of our tools, methods and a broad range of activities for Global Education.

Then, you’re all set, and as Seth Godin said: “The only thing worse than starting something and failing … is not starting something.”
